Our walk starts from Minninglow car park. This is on the High Peak Trail, which at one time carried the Cromford and High Peak Railway, famous in its day for its steep inclines and for having the steepest curve of any railway in the country at Gotham. Our route takes us via Roystone Grange, a settlement which can trace its origins to about 1800 years ago, and Gotham.
